System Requirements

• Windows 2000 SP 3 / Windows XP / Windows 2003 Server / Windows Vista / Windows 7
• Graphics card with 3D acceleration
  Screen resolution at least 800 x 600 Pixel
  Color depth 16 bits or 32 bits (24 bits might not work.)
• DirectX 9.0 (already included with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7)
  Available via Windows Update, Microsoft Update or via download from Microsoft.

Why do I have to install so much additional software
The actual program only has a few megabytes!

I had a lot of fun developing CrossSections. This was because modern development environments like the Microsoft .NET Framework make programming easier. One can concentrate on the intersting and original functionality instead of worrying about the GUI. So, CrossSections could be implemented in a few weeks. The disadvantage is that the end-user must download and install additional software packages. I am absolutely aware of this fact. But without those frameworks, CrossSecions would simply not exist.

So do not be annoyed by some more megabytes to download, better enjoy the program ;-)
All additional components are useful for other programs as well, in particular for future ones of my authorship. If you encounter any problems, please contact me via email. Please describe the behaviour of the program as exactly as possible and document all error messages. The best way to do this is to attach a screenshot acquired by pressing the "Print" key. In fact, testing the setup program is the hardest task in developing a software for a hobby programmer.
